Bio/Research

Hornsby – is a professor in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President (Academic) at Carleton University, Ottawa. Prior, Hornsby held faculty positions at University College London and the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg South Africa.

Hornsby's research interests pertain to the politics of science and risk in international governance, Canadian foreign policy in Sub-Saharan Africa, South African foreign policy, middle power cooperation, and pedagogy in higher education. He has published in both the biological and social sciences, and is a recognized lecturer.

Hornsby holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, UK and is a former Fulbright Scholar having conducted research at The Fletcher School, Tufts University. He maintains a strong interdisciplinary research record having published in both the biological and social sciences and is an award-winning lecturer.

Hornsby currently sits on the Boards of Canadian Foreign Policy Journal, Digital Policy Studies, the Center for Engaged Learning Open Book Series and co-edits the Palgrave book series – Political Pedagogies.
