Bio/Research

Sloan joined Carleton after working as a defence analyst in the Department of National Defence. Prior to completing her PhD at Tufts University, she was a logistics officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. She holds a BA from Royal Military College of Canada, and an MA from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs.

Sloan is available to discuss Canadian and US defence policy and military capabilities, military procurement and shipbuilding, Arctic defence, and NATO and NORAD.

Sloan has published widely on Canadian and US defence and security topics. Her teaching focuses on International Security Studies, Transatlantic Security Issues, and North American Security and Defence Policy.
