Before joining the Sprott School of Business, Firoozi worked in the financial industry. Her research interests are in the intersection between corporate governance mechanisms, corporate disclosure, and information technology. Her current research mainly focuses on the impact of digitalization on corporate governance and corporate disclosure. Her research is published in journals, such as Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, British Journal of Management, Corporate Governance: An International Review, and Journal of Information Systems. She has presented her research in international conferences such as the American Accounting Association Annual Conference, the Canadian Academic Accounting Association Annual Conference, the European Accounting Association Annual Congress, and the Center for Social and Environmental Accounting Research Conference (CSEAR), among others.
