Bio/Research

Conrad is an activist, artist, and cultural studies scholar whose research, teaching, and cultural production interests in the study of sexuality include queer studies, queer of colour critique, affect theory, archival practices, film and media, HIV/AIDS, sex work, migration, and social movement history. Conrad is currently a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow with the Archive/Counter-Archive project housed in Cinema and Media Arts at York University and previously held a postdoctoral appointment at the AIDS Activist History Project housed in Sociology at Carleton. His manuscript entitled Radical VIHsion: Canadian AIDS Film and Video, is forthcoming 2021.
