Zhao's research interests are in applied probability and stochastic processes, with a particular emphasis on computer and telecommunication network applications. Bio/Research
Zhao's research interests are in applied probability and stochastic processes, with a particular emphasis on computer and telecommunication network applications. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed research papers; delivered over 70 presentations at conferences; and talked 80 times at seminars/colloquia or workshops by other institutes.
Zhao has also had considerable experience interacting with industry and he is currently an editor of the journal Stochastic Models, an associate editor of the journals Queueing Systems and OR Letters, and on the editorial board of International Journal of Communications, Queueing Models and Service Management, and Journal of Environmental Informatics.
