Bio/Research
Villeneuve obtained his PhD from the University of Toronto in 2000. He undertook postdoctoral work in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and was a Senior Research Scientist in the Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch of Health Canada. He was accredited as a Professional Statistician (P.Stat) by the Statistical Society of Canada in 2006. He has authored or co-authored on more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and has presented his research at numerous national and international meetings. He currently has funding for his research from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute, the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Canadian Nuclear Labs, and the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. He also is a member of Health Canada’s Wind Turbine Noise and Health Study Expert Committee. He currently serves of the editorial boards of the journals Environmental Research, Canadian Journal of Public Health, and Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention.
